Alright friends, I haven’t done a poll in a while.
My 5-year old phone is on it’s last legs. I currently have a Google Pixel but am considering switching back to an iPhone.
I want to know which team are you: Android or iPhone?
I’ve spent $89.17 on groceries, $63.75 on takeout/restaurants, and $110.89 on coffee and beer since last week.
My current Bitcoin holdings: are 0.074923679 BTC.
In Audio Note #64 I talked about what it’s like achieving my biggest goal. Keep reading.
This week on Medium I published I Did A Plant Based Version of the Slow Carb Diet — I Wasn’t Expecting This Result
This essay is about how dieting isn’t actually about dieting. It’s about recalibrating your habits to get you back on the right path.
I had two major client meetings this week. Everything I’ve been working to build is finally coming to fruition. It’s scary, but it feels so good. More on that in a moment.
On Sunday I became a Boston Qualifier. I needed a sub-3:30 and I finished in 3:24:12.3. This was the moment after I crossed the finish line.
When you want something, all the universe conspires in helping you achieve it.
-Paulo Coehlo
It feels like everything is happening all at once.
I’m not going to lie, it’s overwhelming.
This time last year, I was emotionally paralyzed by a toxic situationship, I was making less than $2,000 a month as a freelancer, and I was pacing at a 4:20 marathon time.
I was trying to make progress but progress hadn’t yet found its way to me.
Today things are completely different. I’m in a healthy relationship with a guy I adore, I’m making 5-figures and am on track to earn six figures for the first time in my life, and on Sunday I became a Boston Qualifier.
Within a year everything has shifted. All of the bad that happened to me turned into good. Now I’m living the dream life I’ve spent the past several years designing.
Boyfriend. Business. Boston.
I’ve mentioned before how I think everything in life is interrelated. I think this is all evidence of that.
As you know, running is my foundation. Qualifying for the Boston Marathon has been the north star, or the anchor, guiding my days.
By consistently showing up at the gym, I created evidence for myself to begin believing in my own worth and value.
That trickled into other areas of my life.
Over the past few months new personal, professional, and romantic relationships started to emerge.
One allowed me to move to Austin. Another helped me land my first paying consulting client.
All at once, it seems like everything is coming together.
Why is that?
I don’t think the good things were absent in my life before. I just wasn’t in a place where I could clearly see them.
I had to experience some things — painful things — to put myself in a mental state where I could see opportunities, make the choice to experience those opportunities, and be receptive to all of the good that comes from those opportunities.
I’m not convinced the world is abundant and filled with good things.
We just have to prime our minds to be able to see all the opportunities that are around us.
